DEPRESSION & ANXIETY

Depression and anxiety aren't just mental or emotional struggles—they're often signs of a dysregulated nervous system. Whether you're feeling persistently low, overwhelmed, emotionally flat, restless, or stuck in cycles of overthinking, your brain and body may be locked in patterns that need to be rewired—not just managed.

At Vital Balance, we approach depression and anxiety through a brain-body lens—looking at how your nervous system, brainstem, posture, movement, and perception of safety all contribute to your emotional state. Our goal is to help restore balance, resilience, and clarity by working directly with the systems that regulate mood, stress, and energy.

Our Neuro-Based Approach Includes:

1. Functional Neurologic Assessment
We begin by evaluating how different brain regions—especially the prefrontal cortex, limbic system, cerebellum, and brainstem—are functioning. This includes:

  • Eye movement and visual tracking exams

  • Gait and posture analysis

  • Brainstem reflex and cranial nerve testing

  • Heart rate variability (HRV) and stress response assessments

  • Proprioceptive and vestibular mapping

2. Upper Cervical Correction and Brainstem Recalibration
The upper cervical spine (C1/C2) is closely linked to the brainstem and autonomic nervous system. Misalignments here can disrupt sleep, digestion, hormone balance, and emotional regulation. We use gentle, precise techniques to restore alignment and reduce neurologic interference—helping shift the system from “fight or flight” to “rest and repair.”

3. Nervous System Regulation and Sensory Recalibration
Anxiety and depression often result from a nervous system stuck in patterns of threat, exhaustion, or disconnection. Through carefully selected eye exercises, balance drills, breathing patterns, and movement retraining, we help the brain recalibrate how it processes input and generates emotional responses—creating more stability and adaptability.

4. Lifestyle and Brain Health Coaching
We also address key brain-body rhythm drivers like circadian balance, light exposure, movement, and nutrition, offering realistic strategies to support long-term mental wellness. Many patients benefit from small but powerful shifts that bring the nervous system out of survival mode and into a state of regulation.

Who We Support
We work with patients who:

  • Feel persistently stuck in cycles of depression or anxiety

  • Experience brain fog, low energy, or emotional flatness

  • Have tried therapy or medication with limited success

  • Want a deeper, neurologically-informed approach to healing
